After their morning performance against Serbia, Norway´s men team celebrated its second victory in the group and defeated the national team of Greece.
Great acrobatic skills and team spirit were the keys for the success of the Scandinavians in the first set, however in the second half Greece improved a lot and were for several minutes on eye level with the Norwegians who weren´t able to maintain the high level they´ve produced from the first half.
Nevertheless, a tired Greek team and clever game play merged with focused performance on the Scandinavian side meant another two hard earned points for Norway.
Arne Veum, played of Norway: “We had a tough time against Serbia, where we lost the second set, but was focused in the beginning of the match. This time we again had good control in the first set, but were a bit unfocused in the second. We´ve avoided a shoot-out, which is great.”
Vasileios Charalmpakis, player/coach of Greece: “We´re just a few people in the national team who didn´t have much training time lately, and with injuries and red cards for our team we hardly can cope. As Norway is a highly gifted team, today we had less chance against them. Our target is to go to the next round and if we manage this, we´ll be happy.”
