Russia has won duel for first place in Group A and finished before Norway who ends up on second place.
The east Europeans managed to maintain their top position in the group and after dominating the first set, they had a more tough second period, where Norway came close and a face-to-face game established with the lead changing hand several times.
At the end Russia was the luckier and the team of coach Victor Lavrov had to thank a lot to Sergey Predybailov who have scored 23 points all together becoming the match winner for the Russians who has not lost any single set in the tournament so far.
Roman Kalashnikov, player of Russia: “We only had a little gathering before the tournament and as Norway are a strong team we expected a great battle. Our dream result would be the final and the first place in the tournament, but realistically I say the Top4 is possible.”
