Group A

Angola – Germany 25:22 (14:10)

In the last rounds´s opener Angola had no problems to overcome Germany in a hectic, but fair game.

Angola already had a place in the 1/8finals, but still the Africans were very determined, so was coach Heine Jensen´s team.

His side gave maximum effort and was aiming for victory, but already in the first half one could recognize that the Europeans lack efficiency in executing their clear-cut chances. Several of Germany´s 1 to 1 situations were saved well by the Angola goalkeepers.

The Africans succeeded with their unorthodox playing style, were many times able to surprise their opponents.

Towards the dying minutes the game turned to be exciting, when Germany started a catch-up phase, but Angola scored and won the match.

After this defeat, Germany will continue in the Presidents Cup, whilst Angola will meet Group B´s second placed team Spain in the 1/8finals.
