EURO 2012 back in Serbia

EURO 2012 back in Serbia

Last January we were in Serbia with the EURO 2012 for men, where Denmark become European Champions. In December we take the trip back to Serbia for the EURO 2012 womens championship.

After the Netherlands withdrew themself from being organizer of the EURO 2012, EHF had to get another country to take responsibility for organizing the championship.

Eleven nations expressed their interest in holding the EHF EURO including: Croatia, Denmark, FYR Macedonia, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Sweden.

Same procedure as last time
The EURO 2012 for women will bring us back to the same cities we visited during the mens championship. Nis, Vrsac, Novia Sad and the capitol Belgrade will host the matches for the best nations in Europe.

Among those nations Iceland now got the last space since the Netherlands now withdrew themself out of the competition.

Iceland got something going and surprised many experts in Brasil during the world championship, and we’ll look forward to see them in Serbia.
