Oltchim saved from economic collaps

Oltchim saved from economic collaps

2010 CL-finalist and last year’s CL-semifinalist,Oltchim Rm.Valcea struggled with severe financial problems and it was unsecure if they can participate in Chamipons League.

The Romanian club transfered this summer a whole team with stars, like: Silvia Navarro and Alexandrina Barbosa  (Itxako), Allison Pineau and Amandine Leynaud (Metz), Katarina Bulatovic (Buducnost) and there was a risk that these players could not be payed and have to cease their contracts.

The main sponsor of the club, the chemical factory from Rm.Valcea (which was a state-owned company) will be privatized and there was not more possibility to help financially the handball team.

After more than a month of uncertainty, the solution came from the council of Bucharest, which gave 220.000 euro to the club and Petrom company will also give a financiall support of about 1 million euro.

“We are very happy that the financial status of the club is solved, but we also know that we have to give more than our maximum to not disappoint those people who supports us and believes in our team.”-said Oana Manea and IuliaPuscasu-Curea, two of the Romanian players of the club.
