Podravka: takes two points from Transylvania

Podravka Vegeta has arrived to Cluj-Napoca without  Nikica Pusic-Koroljevic, injured earlier. The team from Transylvania is trying today to collect its first points ever in groups of CL.

The first part of the game was one with a low numbers of scorings, 3-3 in the 14.min. Petrcóczi and Zderic has showed great savings in the goals, meanwhile in field, only Senocico and Gace could be remarked. The match has continued to be poor in scorings, but Podravka took the lead, 5-8, six minutes before the break. The players of Cluj didn’t find the way to the goal, but Croatians seems to keep the same low rhythm as the hosts did in a first half with a lot of mistakes by both sides. Half time result: 6-10.

Dissapointing start of second half from Cluj’s side,6-12 fro guests after 3 minutes of play. On a slippery floor players had huge problems coordinating their movements, trying  mostly to avoid injuries.12.minute in this half, 11-13 fro Croatian team, but Cluj’s team was coming to life.They managed to equalise at 17-17, but didn’ have the strength to win the game. Podravka scored in the finish by Covic Z. abd Milanovic-Litre, Zderic has saved some more balls and her team was collecting two very important points in the race of qualification to the Main Round. Final result: 19-20.

Topscorers: Carmen Cartas (U Jolidon Cluj)  5 goals and  Sanja Damjanovic (Podravka Vegeta) 6 goals.

Result: “U”Jolidon Cluj-Podravka Vegeta 19-20 (6-10)
