Zvezda close to the Main Round, Thüringer defeated Viborg again

First match of this round of groupes wa played by Zvezda Zvenigorod and Buducnost Podgorica, to decide the new leader of this group.

First half has beought a claerly home dominance, where Buducnost has played without Woltering in the goal, injured. Before the break the home team had an advantage of five goals, 17-12.

Second half was also a Russian one, the score’s evolution: 18-14, 19-15, 22-16, Buducnost seemed to not finding the rhythm of the game. Alexandra Lacrabere, Anna Viakhirjeva, Julija Nikolic and Ludmila Postnova showed a brilliant play in Russian attack, and after ten minutes in the second half was 24-16. Buducnost made efforts to reduce the gap, but Russians had a good day, when everything went great. Final result: 31-25.

Topscorers: Alexandra Lacrébere, Julija Nikolic  and Ludmila Postnova(Zvezda Zvenigorod)9 goals each and Milena Knezevic (Buducnost) 9 goals

Result: Zvezda Zvenigorod-Buducnost Podgorica 31-25 (17-12)


In the other match of the group Thüringer HC visited Viborg in Denmark, getting a deserved victory and keeping open their chances for the Main Round.

Result: Viborg HK – Thüringer HC 26-29 (11-16)

Topscorers: Isabelle Gulldén(VHK) 12 goals and Katrine Engel (THC) 8 goals
