
Last match of the Group stage has brought a really exciting match, a clash between two teams from Balkan, which are knowing each other more than well. In Arena Stozice Krim Ljublajna has tried to defeat Podravka at least by four goals to blow away Podravka’s chances to qualifying to the next round. The guests has arrived to Slovenia with 6 points, defeating their direct opponent by 3 goals in home-court.
Podravka’s team-captain, Miranda Tatari has got injured two weeks earlier, she could not play tonight and Andrea Penezic was back from her ankle-injury, so Krim could consistently improve their game, having more alternatives.
Krim opened the game by leading 3-o, 6-4, but Podravka came back, 6-6. The rest of the first half was led by home-team at 9-6, 21-10, half time result beeing 14-12.
The second half was a glorious march for Krim, Slovenian team increased the gap and it was no doubt that the victory and qualification couldn’t be lost of the hosts. With a significantlly improved Grubisic in the goal, good performance was also showed by Susan Müller, Carmen Martin and Nina Wörz. Final result: 28-22.
