Spanish victory against Croatia

Group C has continued with the match between Croatia and Spain, the two teams which were victorious in their opening games on Tuesday, and this way leading the group.

Macarena Aguilar was not warmed up to this match, but she took sit on the bench on his team.

 

In the first half we could watch a balanced game where Croatia has showed the same ambitious handball as the day before against Hungary. Maja Zebic was outstanding again, scoring four. Navarro had a great performance in the goal and her team-mates showed a good attacking play, Barbosa, Mangue and Martin was shining. Croatian had done some mistakes and Spain went to break by advantage, Half time: 13-10.

Second half has continued with a Croatian comeback, three fast scorings by the team from Balkan (Zebic, Milanovic-Litre an Peraica) ans situation was a tie again. Spain took the lead again by 17-14, but a double 2 minutes suspension gave the chance to Croatia to reduce the gap again. 17-17, Zebic scored again by penalty. Big battle was fought on the court with a slight Spanish advantage, 22-20, 6 minutes before the final. After this Spain kept the lead and defeated Croatia by 25-22.

Result: Spain – Croatia 25-22 (13-10)

Topscorers: Marta Mangue (Spain)  7 goals and Maja Zebic (Croatia)  9 goals
