Serbia takes two points through Main Round

Last match of the Group A was organised between hosts Serbia and the surprise-team, Czech Republic. The winner of the match could collect two valuable points to take trough the Main Round.

 

In the first half the game was a balanced one, with close periods, Good saves by Tomasevic and Serbian lead after 15 minutes. After a Czechian time-out, the guests leveled up the match and took the lead by two goals, winning the first half by 12-15.

Second part started with a Serbian equalising at 16-16 and making the game close again. Serbians took the lead several times by one goals, 19-18, 20-19, but the ambitious Czechian team scored one more, blowing away the Serbian lead. Then Andrea Lekic and Katarina Tomasevic had an improving performance and Serbia increased the gap, 23-21. Sustained by the crowd and with a brilliant Lekic and Pop-Lazic, hosts managed to win by 28-24.

Result: Serbia-Czech Republic 28-24 ( 12-15)

Topscorers: Andrea Lekic and Sladana Pop-Lazic(Serbia) 6 goals each and Romana Chrenkova and Klara Cerna (Czech Republic) 6 goals each
