Hungary defeated by Montenegro after thriller

Second match of the Main Round, Group II was played by Hungary and Montenegro, the two group-winners after  the first stage of the competition.

 

Hungarians will miss Anita Görbicz from the court , because of illness, which is a significant handicap for the team.

 

First half  Montenegro had got a flying start , where Jovanka Radicevic and Ana Djokic was scoring six times together. Hungarian goalkeepers couldn’t save as many balls and their collegue in the opponent goal, Sonja Barjaktarovic.

In the 20th minute-Milena Knezevic was hitting Tomori on her face , and has been punished with a red card by referees. Hungarians were improving in defense and getting  some keeper saves by Éva Kiss and manage to reduce the gap, 8-11 in 25th minute. Montenegro led by Jovanka Radicevic won the first half by 9-15.

 

Second part of the match has continued than the first, Montenegro has scored several times, Hungary was not finding the rhythm, score  13-20. Then Tomori got a red card for reclamation, but Klikovac has also collected Motenegro’s second  red card.

Kinga Klivinyi made a fantastic debute in ECh , scoring three times, Hungary has managed to level up the match from a seven goals handicap and this made the Hungarians to play more creative in attack and score from the line and wings as well.

Very exciting match in the last ten minutes, where Hungary has showed an unknown  mentally strongness, and despite the defeat against Montenegro they became a real team here in Serbia.

Final result: 26-28.

 

 

Result: Hungary-Montenegro 26-28 (9-15)
