Russia defeated Hungary and playing for 5th place

The match has started with several saves by Hungarian goalkeeper, Orsolya Herr and scorings by Zsuzsanna Tomori, who had to take a rest in the last match against Romania. 3-3 in 10th minute.

Left winger Polina Kuznetcova scored three times, keeping her team in advantage. Hungary could not find the way to the goal, Basarab then Sidorova made good savesin the Russian goal. Attack has not worked so well for Hungary, but Herr in the goal was  fantastic, saving two penalties and keeping her team in the match, 7-11, in 25th minute .

Russians seemed to be much more motivated to get a good result, than Hungary,  the team beeing  already  in the semifinal.

Hungary got a suspension and playing with five players had scored three times, by Rédei-Soós and Görbicz, 10-13.

Görbicz has scored from penalty in the dying minutes of the first part, result before break: 11-13.

In the second part Russia got a flying start scoring seven times in the first 9 minutes and, increased the gap, 14-21. Hungarians could not score easily, meanwhile Russians was scoring when they wanted, from almost every position. Ten minutes before the final whistle Russia was leading by 20-26. Final result: 25-31.

Result: Hungary- Russia  25-31  ( 11-13)

Best players of the match: Viktória Rédei Soós (Hungary) and Ekaterina Ilina(Russia)
