Semi-final

Norway – Hungary 30:19 (16:11)

In the first semi-final in the Belgrade Arena a hot duel between Hungary and Norway took place.

The favourised Norwegians who didn´t lose any games so far in the competition, controlled the match up from halfway of the first period.

In that phase, Hungary were unlucky on their executions, Anita Görbicz missed on the seven metre line and assists to line-player Piroska Szamoránszky didn´t work well.

The Scandinavians punished every Hungarian mistake and their attacks were finished with goals.

Coach Karl Erik Böhn´s team only could keep the pace with the Norwegians for about 15 minutes, then Norway did a marvelous 9:1 run and turned the result from 7:9 to 16:10.

In the second period Hungary started a catch up phase and the difference melted to four goals only, but the Hungarians ran out of stream and power, and the so the Scandinavians outclassed the red-white-green side letting them no chance in the second period.

Norway were superior in all parts of the game and were able to save some power for the final.
