Győri Audi ETO KC had been in negotitations with their players whose contracts expires at the end of the season.
In the first round negotiations were succesfull and Katrine Lunde (2+1 year), Heidi Löke (2 years), Eduarda Idalina Amorim (2+1 years) and Adrienne Orbán (2+1 years) has extended their contracts.
Today’s news are telling us that 21 years old playmaker Anikó Kovacics extended her contract as well for 2+1 years.
” It was no doubt that I will stay in Győr.Here I can develop best as a player and regarding all the conditions this is the best choice for me.”- said Kovacsics.
Raphaelle Tervel will take the final decision later this year, but she declared that Győri Audi ETO is her last professional handball club in her career. If her team will win the CL-trophy, the French player would retire after this season, that’s why she won’t put her signature yet on the contract.
“I would like to wait with taking a decision, but if I will continue my handball career then it won’t be anywhere else but in Győr.”- said the 33 years old French player.
Big questions were about the contract extensions of the two players from Balkan: Andrea Lekic and Jovanka Radicevic. Finally, the decision was taken, none of them wants to continue iny Győr from next season. Their next team is unknown yet, but rumours are telling us that they got a very good offer from Macedonian Vardar Skopje, where new owner/sponsors is willing to build a new dream team.
“I hesitated long weeks, even months before I took adecision. Győr is a fantastic city, with fantastic people and an extremelly well structured, profesionnally club. However, the structure of the ETO-team not allows for me to play on my favorite position( the playmaker) I have to taket his step. But the season is not over yet, so in the next months I will give everything to achieve our goal, it’s the least these fantastic fans deserve!”-Andrea Lekic declared.
Jovanka Radicevic: ” It was a fantastic year for me, with a lot of competitions and trophies, it’s almost hard to believe. The last years here in Győr gave me a lot from my team mates, coaches and fans, they are all fantastic. When I took the decision about my future I had to confront my heart with the rational arguments. Every handball player’s career is finite, we only have a limited number of years when we can profit of our talent and work. But Istill want to win CL, so I will fight with the same ambition and seriousity in this season, to get the CL trophy to Győr, not onlyf or me, but for ETO and theor fans!”
