Result: Zvezda Zvenigorod- Krim Ljubljana 24-29 (14-15)

Group II in the Main Round of CL has on schedule two matches on Sunday.

First one was played between Zvezda Zvenigorod and Krim Ljubljana, in Russia in the new home-court of Russian team in Zvenigorod.

Zvezda misses Polina Kuznetcova, pregnant, meanwhile Slovenians from Krim has an injured player in Maja Zrnec.

The game started with a slight advantage of hosts, 4-2, 6-4, Nikolic, Mareinikova and Postnova scoring for the Russians in this period. Krim tied  at 6-6, taking the lead and the control of the match, winning the first half by 14-15. Spanish Carmen Martin and Croatian Andrea Penezic put their substantial contribution to get the lead, even if Sidorova made some good saves in the Russian goal. Half time: 14-15.


In the second part of the match, guests managed to increase the gap, but after some minutes of play Zvezda got the tie, 16-16, and then started a balanced fight, until 40.minute of the match. 19-19 was the score when Krim pushed on the acceleration and with a 7-0 serie let the hosts behind, increasing the lead to 19-26 (51. minute). A tremendous role had Carmen Martin and SusanMüller in this, but also Jelena Grubisic in the goal, improving her performance from first half, getting a saving percent  nearly 55% in the second half. Brazilian Daniela Piedade has scored the goal number 28 for Krim, after a long absence from the court due to a stroke, and her team defeated Zvezda by 24-29.

Topscorers: Julija Nikolic (Zvezda Zvenigorod) 6 goals and Carmen Martin (Krim Ljubljana) 8 goals
