Larvik HK- Győri Audi ETO KC 18-24 (10-8)
Saturday afternoon Larvik HK met in Arena Larvik the only undefeated team of this season’s CL, Győri Audi ETO KC.
The match had brought a really high interest from Norwegian public, so this decisive match was played in a totally outsold arena, 4400 fans was supporting their favorite teams, among them 200 white-greens from Hungary.
These two teams has maximum points in the Main Round group I, Győr beeing undefeated in CL so far this edition.
The players from Győr were wearing at the team-presentation, green, special made T-shirts, wishing fast recovery to their earlier coach, Karl Erik Böhn, who is struggeling with a very serious illness.
First half was opened with a 3-0 by Larvik, goals by Sulland, Mörk and Breivang in this period, Győr had scored their first goal in the 7. minute of the game Radicevic. Győr had problems with attack, they could not score easily, Leganger had saved most of the balls in this period, but Lunde also showed good performance for the guests. Result: 4-2, 6-3, 7-5. Half way in the first part Hungarian Kovacsics was injured, receiving an elbow in her head, beeing forced to leave the court, followed by the doctor of the team. The game was characterised of turnovers and technical fouls by Győr’s side, so Larvik was in lead after the first 30 minutes, 10-8.
In the second part of the match guests had opened with a much organised attack and more precise finalising of clear situations. In 38.minute, Amorim had equalised, then Rédei-Soós has scored for the lead, 13-14. Blanco tied for Larvik, 14-14, then Lekic put Győr in lead again. At the 15-15, Martin Ambros has called his time-out, then his team netted back Leganger five times, meanwhile hosts could score only three, KatrineLunde having an outstanding second half in the goal, 17-20, 54.min. More scorings from hosts, by Szepesi, Rédei-Soós, 17-23, three minutes before the end. Final result: 18-24.
