Champions League final is just couple days to go to, Hungarian Győri Audi ETO KC are coming to Larvik  HK on Sunday for the first leg of the finals. Győr was proclaimed as favorites from the start of this season, and Larvik met them already twice in the Main Round of the competition, losing both times against them.

Champions League finals will be two totally different matches, could not be compared with any other match-Tor Oddvar Moen says during an interview with TimeOut Magazin.

...about advantages and disadvantages regarding the fact that Larvik knows so nearly the opponent ( and viceversa)

I believe that this is a huge advantage for our team, that we knows them and the fact that Győr are proclaimed favorites. The favorite position is putting a bigger pressure on Győr players and everybody expects from them to win this year the CL, after seven missed finals in European Cups this is a must for them.
It can happen that their two earlier victories against us this year is planted in the heads, which puts us in a good offensive position.

….about preparing the game, trainings before the final, morale of the team in Larvik

The morale of the team is a very good one, I can feel on the players that everybody is ready to start, and is highly motivated to win.
In addition we are very well prepared phisically and mentally too, having the largest squad since this years CL has started. Tonje Larsen is healthy, so she can play both ways, Nora Mörk is back in play, that means she can step in for some minutes, when her qualities can make a diefference in the game. We are really looking forward to the final.

….expectations regarding Győr’s play, their style and team

We will meet a fantastic handball team, which earned its favorite position so far in CL. We have to focus and fight them all the sixty minutes, not only fifty as we did in the last matches against them.

….to be attentive with

We have to be more consistent in our physical play, to make a good defense. We have to be more annoying in the tackles against them and try to incommodate them in their flow of play. Therefore I think that even this is a final, these matches won’t be really a propaganda for beauty of handball.

….about tickets, free seats and fans

Larvik Arena is nearly sold out, so I hope that the athmosphere will reach the level of a final. Hungarian fans will arrive to support their team in a number of 185, as far as I know.

….result to be satisfied with after the first match

The result of the first match of the final is nor very relevant to us, we would like to win of course this match, but the goal difference is not very important. Some years ago maybe it was, but for example two years ago against Itxako we got a victory at two goals, and Spanishs were dancing outside the Arena Larvik, thinking that it will be enough to them to get the trophy, but eventually we won the CL.

….meaning of playing the second, decisive match of CL-final at away-court

We don’t have to attribute to much importance to playing away. Our team makes very good matches at away court, so we are not concerned about this. It will be important of course to win at home court, than Győr have to chase the score in the second match, that would be a good starting point.
