The final of CL has started with a Hungarian lead, 2-0 , 6-1, 9-2, 9-3. Eduarda Amorim, Heidi Löke, Jovanka Radicevic, Andrea Lekic netted for Győr, meanwhile on the other side only Karoline Dyhre Breivang and Nora Mörk could put the ball behind an outstanding Katrine Lunde.
Ole Gustav Gjekstad has called his timeout in 11th minute of the match, and Larvik started to reduce the gap. Nora Mörk kept her team in the match with three consecutive scoring, 9-5,11-7. The Hungarian team played a very fast handball, strong defense and high-level goalkeeper performance. Larvik was quiet out of ideas against Győr’s defense, and the first half ended 13-8 for hosts, which meant an eight scoring aggregate advantage.
In the second half of the final the picture of the game is almost the same, Cecilie Leganger shows a good performance in the goal, saving a 7 meter penalty against Anita Görbicz. Győr managed to keep the gap,14-9, 15-10 and even to increase it, 16-10, 17-10 in 39. minute. Győr has scored by Eduarda Amorim, Heidi Löke, Jovanka Radicevic and Andrea Lekic, Larvik netted by Anja Edin, Nora Mörk or Isabel Blanco.
The last fifteen minutes of the match has brought a Larvik which played with a bigger ambition, and they managed to reduce the gap step by step, from 19-14 to 19-17 in 48.minute. The last ten minute of the final was a very balanced fight, Larvik made a last comeback, and they managed even to get a draw, at 22-22.
The last moment of the game was Anita Görbicz’s seven meter, she scored her fifth goal in the match, which meant a 23-22 victory for hosts and an agregate score of 47-43 against Larvik.
Győri Audi ETO KC managed to win the CL.trophy after seven other lost European-cup finals.
