
Denmark’s head coach Jan Pytlick completed the squad for Serbia with the last two names today. Playmaker Anne Mette Hansen from the top league club Skive, and the 1st division player, playing in Ajax København, Jane Schumacher got a place as a left back.
– There were no reason to hold back with this any longer. Jane Schumaker is a natural choice as a playmaker. She’s been together with the team since March, know the systems and fits well into the play. And, she is a good all-round player, who keeps a high level in the leavue, Jan Pytlick, head coach of Denmark tells the press.
Four debutants
Denmark will have four championship debutants in the upcoming world championship. Both Jane Schumaker and Anne Mette hansen will get their debut, together with Rikke Poulsen and Trine Østergaard.
This is a part of the danish handball federation’s project New Start which aims to hit the top level at the championship held in Denmark in 2015. jan Pytlick feels confident that this is the right way to go.
– Anne Mette Hansen is an investment in the future. She is an up and coming young player that has great qualitiese in the attack play. She’s slided in naturally in the team and we feel safe that we’ve made the decuision to take her to the championship to gain some experience at a top level.
