
Big clash between Romania and Hungary, in arena SPENS form Novi Sad. Many thousands of Hungarians has travelled to the match in order to cheer for their team.
Hungary started with a new line-up, completed by Szandra Zácsik on left-back, and this seemed to be succesfully, since the team of Hajdu was in lead after 12 minutes, result 1-4, Zácsik scored 3 goals.
Romanians managed to get the draw at 5 – 5, in minute 18. of the match, the game being characterized by strong, hard-working defenses and a high-level performance from Hungarian goalkeeper, Éva Kiss.
Hungary showed more ability and motivation, Görbicz, Bulath and Zácsik netted back Ungureanu and the lead was increased to 6 – 9 two minutes before the final whistle of the first half.
Romanians stayed close, helped by Neagu and Nechita, 8-9, but 25 seconds left, Zita Szucsánszki got a penalty and Anita Görbicz assured 8 – 10 before the break for Hungary.
The second half started with a Romaninan goal, but Hungary scored and kept the lead, until minute 45. Then Romania get the draw, at 14 – 14, then the two teams followed each other closely, 15- 15, 16-16,
Romania managed to take he lead at 17-16 (minute 53.) by Laura Chiper, a newcomer to WCh.
Tadici’s team did not lost this lead, but increased it, 20-16, 21 – 17 and they’ve got an important victory against Hungary.
Final result: 21 – 17.
