Hungary arrived o this match after a defeat against Romania yesterday, but the team lead by Anita G0rbicz showed ambition, ability and Görbicz, with eight goals and Hungarians won the first half.
Germany had some problems with Hungarian offensive combinations and they could not stop their fast counter attacks either. The best scorer in the German team was Susan Müller, with her five goals.
Half time: 16 – 14.
The second part has brought a better German defense, and some Hungarian mistakes, Germans got the draw , 16 – 16, but Hungary took the lead again 20-18. the game was exciting and balanced, even if Hungary was sin lead the tension was at its edge, and thousand of Hungarians were supported again their team.
The teams were following each other tightly, Soós scored, than Althaus got a goal, Woltering saved some shoots, but Herr also had some savings in the Hungarian goal.
At 20-20, Müller netted for the Germans, for a draw, then Szamoránsky fought for a penalty, then Görbicz scored her tenth goal. Althaus scored fro 22-22.
After Nadgornaja hit Görbicz on her face, she was out for two minutes, but Hungarians could not manage to score, but germans didi it through Müller, 22 23 (minute 48).
János Hajdu has called his first time-out in this match, Hungarian were struggeling to get the draw, finally Görbicz scored, than Kovacsiz took the lead by a fast counter attack, 24 – 23.
The referees didn’t let to Hungary to score, but they managed anyway, 25-25. Angie Geschke scored for new German lead, 25 – 26, Görbicz equalised by 26-26, Susan Müller scored her goal number thirteen, 26-27. Last seconds, Görbicz missed a penalty and Germany defeated Hungary by one goal.
