About the match

The TEAM realized this victory, and I knew it in my heart that they are capable to do this. The girls were very nervous, we have looked forward to this such a long time, to be able to play a match like this and after a difficult first half t we managed to come back, to turn over the result.

We worked just like against Brazil in the preparation matches, and we managed to keep the advantage and win the match.

I have believed in my team all the way, this was the key of this victory, even when Romania was leading by two-three goals and everything went wrong for us, and Neagu scored from every shoot, I knew that we can do it.

We are working together with these girls three years now, and we learned how to trust each other, and that’s why in such situations and difficult matches we can find the way back to the victory.

About the victory and qualification to the quarter finals

This is a great success to the Polish handball, we are really happy that we managed to win and to qualify.

About the next opponent

So it’s France, I didn’t know it, I was busy with our match (smiles). France is a great team, with excellent players, their team always has chance to win the World Championships when they participates.

We have to prepare well and play on our best level to be able to compete France in the quarter finals, but this will be a great challenge for me and my team.

Gheorghe Tadici (Romania), head-coach:

” Congratulations to our opponent, Poland made a great match, they fought until the end, and in the second half  they made an accurate play, scored from the opportunities they got, they managed to play efficiently , meanwhile we had weak day on the court, and even if we had a four goals advantage in the first half, we could not take advantage of our possibilities, which made that we lost this match.

It is quite difficult to win a match, when you miss so many shoots and the defense was also without tacklings, we were too nice with our opponents.”
