Topscorers: Alexanda Nascimento (BRA) 10 goals and Zsuzsanna Tomori (HUN) 7 goals

The quarterfinal between Hungary and Brazil ended by a thriller, with two extratimes and a Brazilian victory, presenting an exciting fight.

Morten Soubak (Brazil), head-coach:

” I am very proud of my team, since they never gave up and fought until the end. We deserved this victory, but we needed some luck of course to win a thriller like that.

Hungary played the same play as we analyzed but tehy suprised us somehow by playing with lineplayer, whic they never didi until now here at the WCh.”

Barbara Arenhart (Brasil), goalkeeper:

” We mad e good game, I am proud of my team for the fighting spirit they showed today and I thin we deserved to win. Small details has decided at the end, is was a thriller, we made something historical for Brazilian handball.”

Zsuzsanna Tomori (Hungary), backplayer:

“We fought until the end, but lost the focus some periods in the game and we struggled to play against their offensive defense, despite the fact that we knew their style.

I am very sorry we could not manage to qualidy to the semifinals, we have to analyze the match to see what really was the reasons for that.”
