Norway started with an outstanding Katrine Lunde in the goal, an took the lead at 4-9, then 6-11 )(fter 22 minutes), but Serbians did not give up and managed to reduce the gap slowly but secure, and before the break the difference was only one goal for Norway, 15 – 16.
Sanja Damnjanovic and Dragana Cvijic for the hosts, Heidi Loke and Nora Mork for the World Champions were the best players on the court in this part pf the game.
In the beginning of the second half Norway increased the gap again to 15-20 and 16-21, but Serbians, supported by 19523 people in a fully packed arena, came back, made a good fight and managed to equalize then take the lead at 22-21, ten minutes before the end.
From this point there was no chance for Norway, as Serbia could score easily, Norway made mistakes, Katarina Tomasevic showed a high-level performance in the goal, Cvijic scored from seven meters, the audience became mad at the end and hosts qualified to the semifinals.
