Topscorer: Alexandra Nascimento (BRA) 7 goals and Maria Fisker, Anne-Mette Hansen, Kristina Kristiansen (DEN)  3 goals each

Brazil has already reached their highest performance when they have qualified to the semifinal of WCh, but today they managed to get higher, and now they will play against Serbia in the final of WCh.

In the first half of the game Brazil  showed a very convincing game, both in attack and defense, where Ana Paula Rodriguez and Alexandra Nascimento were responsible for the goals, meanwhile goalkeeper Barbara Arenhart showed an excellent performance in the Brazilian goal.

Danish team was clueless in front of the Brazilian defense, the half time result was 14 – 10.

In the second hald Danes showed some signes of come back, but they could not managed to reduce the gap, only to three goals, once during teh game, at 22-19.

Brazilian team has always had a player to score in decisive moments, playing like a team they managed to win the game, never leting chnace for the opponent or doubts for the audience about which team was the better one in this game.

Final result: 27 – 21.

Morten Soubak (BRA), head-coach:

” I am of course satisfied with the match and that we managed to qualify to the semifinal. We made a strong game, played like a team and we are looking forward to the snext game. We are aware of the fact that we will play against the hosts and twenty thousand crazy Serbians will be in the hall, but this is a very good point for the women handball.”

Eduarda Amorim (BRA), backplayer:

“We are really happy being in th final, we have realized something huge. I feel very well in this team, with the girls and coaches, we played a good game, and fought all the way, never giving up. We proved that we were the better team today, despite so many critics we got in the last days in media, that we are playing weak.

Once in the final we want the shyniest medal of course and we will do everything for that.”

Jan Pytlick (DEN), head-coach:

” Today the betetr team has qualified to the final, we tried everything, but nothing worked, against a very strong Brazilian team. The best two teams will play in the final, and I have no problems with that.”

Stine Jorgensen(DEN), backplayer:

” Today we made too many mistakes, we could not find the solutions against the Brazilian play, so I think that they deserved to be in the final.”
