The match showed to be a crucial one for Larvik, since they were without points after two rounds in the Main Round. On the other side, Buducnost could strengthen their position on the way to the Final Four in case of a victory.
The first half was characterized by strong, aggressive defenses , good goalkeeper performances by Clara Woltering and Cecilie Leganger, the half ended 8 – 7.
In the second half there were scored some more goals, Buducnost managed to increase the gap by Neagu, Knezevic and Cvijic, leading 12 – 9, 13 – 10 after nine minutes. Then Larvik pushed on the acceleration, Leganger closed the goal, Nora Mörk was fantastic in her offensive play, the whole Norwegian team was running counter attacks, and they equalized and took the lead, 13-16, 47.minute.
Adzic has tried several solutions, giving advice in two timeouts, and his girls came back to 15 – 16, then got the draw at 17 – 17. Larvik was hungry to win, Anja Hammerseng-Edin and Nora Mörk was making the play, the result became 17 – 18, 18 -18 – 58.minute.
A penalty given to Nora Mörk and a two minute suspension to Dragana Cvijic seemed to decide the match, but after Mörk’s penalty-goal, 18 -19, Larvik made mistakes both in defense (goal of Majda Mehmedovic 19 – 19) and attack, when Riegelhuth-Koren could not manage to score form a clear chance.
Final result: 19-19.
