FC Midtjylland  – WHC Vardar SCBT 25 – 24 (15-9)

Topscorers: Stine Jörgensen (FCM) 7 goals and Andrea Lekic (Vardar) 7 goals

Sabine Englert and FC Midtjylland has shown a brilliant performance when after being down with 3 – 5 against guests from Macedonia, they pushed on the acceleration, turned over the result and won the first half by six goal difference, 15 -9.

Sabine Englert with a saving performance near 50% made the day hard for the bunch of stars of the team of Vardar. FCM was dangerous on every position, scoring from backplayer, lineplayer or wings, on the other side only Pineau and Zebic could compete their Danish opponents.

In the second half the site has changed, Amandine Leynaud has closed her goal, and Vardar was slowly reducing the gap, even FCM had already led by seven goals, 16-9. Evolution of the score: 17 – 12, 19- 15, 20 -16, 21 – 19.

FCM seemed to get exhausted by their own speed and tempo, could not put the ball behind Leynaud, meanwhile Andrea Lekic managed to score six times in the second part on the opposite side.

Danish team managed to keep their advantage until the end of the match, getting the victory and the two pints, which still keeps them in the race for the Final Four in Budapest.

Final result: 25 – 24.
