The first place of the group was on play tonight in Moraca Hall, when hosts from Buducnost met last year’s title holders from Győr.
Győr opened with a strong defense, Lunde saving and the team scored on fast counterattacks, 1 – 4 (9.min). Buducnost has made their comeback, 5-5 at the middway of the first half, then took the lead 7-5, but Győr followed them closely, 8- 8, 9-9.
Dragana Cvijic was outstanding in the offensive play, scoring four times and got two penalties as well, on the opposite side Anita Görbicz and Katrine Lunde were real leaders for their team.
Half time result: 14- 12.
In the second half Buducnost was keeepeing the lead during the first twenty minutes, Cristina Neagu holding her team in advantage. At Győr”s side Eduarda Amorim, Katrine Lunde and Anita Görbicz delivered decisive play regarding the comeback of Hungarian team, which has been realized when five minutes remained of the mathc, 25-25. Then Győr scored for the lead, 25- 26 (56.min) bit the same Neagu managed to equalize and the battle ended 26-26.
Győr and Buducnost will continue in May in Final Four battles.
