FC Midtjylland –  Thüringer HC  26 – 2o (15 – 1o)

Topscorers:  FCM- Line Jörgensen 6 goals , Trine Östergaard 5 goals, Nycke Groot 5 goals and THC – Alexandrina Barbosa 5 goals, Nadja Nadgornaja 4 goals, Ivetta Luzumova 3 goals

In Denmark, FCM and THC met to play a crucial match regarding the qualification to the Final Four in Budapest. If FCM got a victory at 2 goals difference, receiving less than 24 goals, or winning by three goals could mean FF to them.

Thüringer HC, led by Herbert Müller needed one point or could be satisfied with an one goal defeat as well to go to FF.

In the first twenty minutes of the game it seemed that it will be an exciting match from the beginning to the end, the result was close, both teams were more times in one goal lead, or the result was draw (3-3, 5-4, 6-6, 7-6, 8- 8, 9-1o, 1o-1o), but after twenty minutes, FCM put en extra gear to their game and won the last ten minutes with 5-o, and the first half with 15- 1o.

Line Jörgensen,Trine Östergaard  and Sabine Englert made an outstanding job on their positions, from guests only Nadgornaja and in periods Alexandrina Barbosa played at their real level.

The second part FCM started like a furious storm, running over a surprised German team, 19-1o, after 5 minutes. Herbert Müller tried to calm down his team in timeouts, but nothing helped, the result was 2o-12 after 4o minutes of play, and THC managed to score only two goals in the last twenty minutes of the game.

Englert was still unconquerable in the goal, despite Barbosa’s goals or Luzumova’s breakthroughs FCM kept the big difference of the score and with an impressive play managed to earn a berth in the FF in Budapest.

Final result: 26 – 2o.
