The bronze final is always played between two teams which has lost the semifinal, a difficult mental situation, the question is which of them can manage in a shorter time to raise themselves from the floor, after a bitter defeat.
The first five starting minutes of the match has brought a balanced game, until 3 – 3, but after that Vardar took the control of the game and the lead 5 – 3, 6 – 4, 8 – 4. Helle Thomsen called her first timeout, but the difference remained the same on the screen. Vardar was in lead during the first half, 10 – 8, 12 – 10, 14 -12 was the half time result. Allison Pineau, Andrea Lekic, Andrea Klikovac and Maja Zebic were the main scorers for Macedonian team, at Dane side Nyckre Grott kept her team in the match with six goals.
The second half started with a fury of FCM, by fast counter attacks, equalizing at 16 – 16. Inna Suslina made some important saves for Vardar, and Andrea Lekic, Julija Nikolic and Tatjana Khmirova took the lead again for their team, netting behind Sabine Englert, 22 – 17, after 43 minutes of play.
In the second part of the last thirty minutes, we could see an entertaining handball with many goals form both sides, Vardar leading by four, five or six goals, showing a quality offensive play this time.
Final result: 34 – 31.
