Jelena Grubisic to replace Katrine Lunde

Last week Norwegian goalkeeper Katrine Lunde has announced her club, Győri Audi ETO KC about the happy news, such as becoming a mother soon. She takes a break from playing handball and the CL-title holder needed a replacement on this position.

In this period of the year is not very easy to find quality goalkeepers which are not under contract, but luckily Croatian Jelena Grubisic had not a valid contract yet and she decided to join Győr.

Grubisic (27) has signed an 1+1 year contract with Hungarian club, and she will share the position with Hungarian NT goalkeeper, Orsolya Herr. Her last club was Krim Ljubljana for five years.

‘After we found out about Katrine Lunde’s  pregnancy, we started  immediately looking after the markets potential goalkeepers. I think we managed to find the best solution in such a short notice, by signing  Jelena. Her abilities are well-known to everyone, I’m sure that she will perfectly fit into our team, and will become a valuable member of that “- Ernő Kelecsényi, director of the club said.

Jelena Grubisic about the transfer:

“I have quiet mixed feelings right now, because everything happened very quickly. But it’s a great pleasure to me beeing contacted by the team which is the double winner of the CL. This is a great honor  and a huge opportunity  to play at the same team with the best players of the world. I know that I have a difficult duty, replacing Katrine Lunde  is not an easy task, but I’ll do my best to meet everyones expectations. ”
