Thorir Hergeirsson head-coach of Norway after Norwegian victory against Serbia:
“Many of the players added something to this match, we managed to play that type og handball we wish to play, we had the possibility to rule fast counter attacks and every player on the court was active.
In the last part of the match I could send Arntzen and Karlsson also to the court, this is pozitive.
Our goalkepers made a solide match, I am satisfied with that part too.
Of course we have some issues to improve on, like building up on a smarter way our attacks, in order to have them longer, we have to be more accurate in every phases of the game, to be sharper in our chances and to work more on another type of defense system, like 5+1.”
Maja Jakobsen (24), rightback and rightwing, player from Storhamar (she was nominated into the ECh squad for the second time)
About the match:
” It was the match where we could plat that type of handball we wished, we could run fast counter attacks, score easy goals, and the opponent became tired and undermotivated at the end.
Abour her role in this team
” My role will be to help on both right back and rightwing, when it’s needed and of course to grab the opportunity when it is offered, like I did in the match against France. It felt good to be able to contribute to overturn the match and to win it, these situations makes me more calm and gives me selfconfidence for the future matches.
About the ECh-group matches
” It is a though group, without doubts, and Denmark is the biggest opponent there, but the most important match of ours is the first one in the group, against Romania. It is a good team and we have to play smart against them. Otherwise this ECh will be very balanced, there are a lot of teams at the same level, exciting competition.
I have never been in Debrecen before, but in Hungary handball is very popular, so I expect many spectators, lot of noise, good athmosphere and a good result for Norway of course.
