First half of the Balcan-derby started with a long period without goals, and after 10 minutes the rsul was 1-3, for Montenegrin side. The two teams showed a stron defense, and Clara Woltering had a fantastic performance in Buducnost’s goal. Vardar seemed to be clueless before the opponents defensive wall.
Neagu and Petrovic took the responsibility for Buducnost’s goals, Vardar was kept in game by Radicevic, Dembele and Penezic, 5-7, after 16minutes of play.
Buducnost showed a more focused handball, both in defense and in attack, Neagu and Petrovic had a great day, meanwhile Maacedonian side still struggled in attack: 7-12, 25.minute. Jan Pytlick decided to call his second timeout to instruate his team and make some changes, which could return the path of the game.This was not helping, since Buducnost won the first half at 9-14.
Second half started with Vardar scoring, but Buducnost managed to continue the focused handball they showed in the first half and keep the lead, later even to increase it, 12-17, 14-21 (48.minute).
Leynaud camme into the Macedonian goal, Penezic aand Lekic seemed to find the way through Buducnost’s wall, but this was not really enough to make the match more balanced.
Ten minutes before the final whistle Buducnost had a huge advantage, 14-23, ddifference which was almost impossible to predict before the game.
At 16-26 Cristina Neagu scored for Vardar for a ten score lead, humiliating the opponent in the CL semifinal.
