Larvik HK – HCM Baia Mare 27 – 22 (12 – 12)
Topscorers: Nora Mörk (Larvik HK) 11 and Lois Abbingh-Allison Pineau (Baia Mare) 4 goals
Larvik HK had back their injured player: Nora Mörk, Amanda Kurtovic, Tine Stange and managed to get the victory after a close first half. Sandra Toft had a remarkable performance in the goal, Nora Mörk netted eleven times, forcing headcoach Rosca to change Ungureanu with Munteanu in the Romanian goal.
Baia Mare had not had on today’s match a real leader and they definitely hadn’t had any good help from the bench either. Players like Elisei and Nascimento were watching the match from the bench during longer periods of the game, Pineau was used mostly in defense, meanwhile Tor Odvar Moen kept in fire all those player who are able to decide the match, like Nora Mörk, Sandra Toft, Amanda Kurtovic, Karoline D.Breivang or Sanna Solberg.
Larvik kept the two points of victory home and the Norwegian team will advance to the next stage with four points, meanwhile Baia Mare is also qualified, but with zero points.
Tor Oddvar Moen, headcoach (Larvik HK):
“This group round had we started weakly, with a huge defeat against Rostov, but since that game our played has improved, we has grown as a team and we are on the right way.
Today’s match was a difficult one, we knew that we need those points to take with us to the Main Round, but we also were aware of the opponent’s strength. Despite the fact that not everything worked perfectly in our play, we kept fighting, showed team spirit and the experienced players secured the victory.
Sandra Toft gave an incredible safety for the team with her saves and mostly with those match-winner saves. Nora Mörk is back after three weeks injury-break, and I have to say that she is fantastical, I cannot describe in another way. She is a machine which seems to work in every circumstances, a world-class player.”
Sandra Toft (goalkeeper), Larvik HK- Player of the match
” I am satisfied that we got this victory and happy to be able to help the team. This is my job, to save balls, that’s why I work here. We made a good game, even if we had some periods when we were struggeling, it was quiet important to keep this points home.”
Nora Mörk (rightback), Larvik HK – topscorer with 11 goals
“I had three weekes without playing matches or practicing too much, having problems with my ankle, I needed to rest. I was hungry to play handball and score goals of course. But I am mostly glad that I was able to contribute to this victory, which secures us four points in the next stage.
Having Baia Mare ranked behind us, we have huge chances to avoid the team ranked first in the other group, which could give us a better position to the quarter finals.”
