12.000 spectators had shown up in Herning expecting to see their team win the first match at the World Championship but after 12 minutes of play the score was still even at 7-7.
Then the homeside managed to pull their play together and before the break they lead, 17-11.
The Asian team fought back, narrowed the gap, but Danes never let them close enough to be able to produce something big. Denmark won the match comfortably, 31 – 21.
Danish player means that Japan was stronger than axpected, but they managed to win anyway so they are satisfied to be able to start like this.
