13.00  France-Russia

Márk: ” Prediction France – Most of the experts would expect Russia to win this duel, but I will bet my two cents on France. Both teams closely lost their quarterfinal matches and I see now higher motivation for France to win.”

Sascha: ”  Russia dominated until losing to Poland and, what I call, was a big upset, but wasting a lot of chances is never a good idea, even worse in a quarterfinal of a World Championship. France, one of the favorites before the start of the tournament, played worse with every game. Seems like it will be wide open. Prediction: France by two.

Bjørn: ” I do not think Russia will lose another match. And, even they lost the querterfinal they are still one of the best team in the championship. Trefilovs girls will again show the world that they are on a mission. Prediction: Russia”

Rodrigo: ” If Russia shows once again that level of performance in the 2011 placement matches, France can seize this and open a big difference in the score. However, Russian players can build up a defense tough to pass through. Still, I believe the French will win this game, by three goals.

Ibolya: ” Two disappointed teams will face each other, but they still have something to fight for, an Olympic qualification spot. France maybe mentally stronger than Russia, since Trefilov’s team was the big favorite here and they cannot reach the medals anymore. France will fight more I think. Prediction: France.

15.30 Montenegro-Denmark

Márk: ” We already had this duel in the preliminaries, there Adzic’s team won by a few goals. Tomorrow I expect the very same. Denmark, even though at home, will lack motivation and Montenegro will be back again to win this game and at the end finish on fifth position at the World Cup.Prediction: Montenegro

Sascha: ”  The quarterfinal was a huge disappointment for both teams, but especially for the Danish team with all the hope the fans had prior to the tournament. But the red and white were just not good enough. Montenegro plays a totally different style, but has less pressure, although the pressure is off Denmark now as well, which should help: Prediction: Denmark by two.

Bjørn: ” This is hard to predict. Denmark will do everything to give something back to all their supporters and to end the championship on a proper way now when the medal is out of sight. Denmark lost with two goals, 21-23, in the preliminary round against Montenegro, but will be carried from the start to the end in Jyske Bank Boxen when they meet Montenegro this time. Prediction: Denmark

Rodrigo: “Both teams had heartbreaking losses, but Montenegro can seize an advantage. They have not played an over time, may be more physically prepared for the match. Radicevic will again be a key player. Bulatovic and Jovanovic can also make a difference for the team. If Denmark can “put the broken pieces together” (a common expression in Brazil) than it can be tough match. If not, Montenegro wins by five goals.

Ibolya: ” A tired Denmark will meet a tired Montenegro, Danes played a match with extratimes, which they lost, Montenegro’s players are already struggeling with their energies. Will be a match with fights and the willingness and motivation will decide the outcome. I say Montenegro, because they are a better team and after all they already know how to win Denmark.Prediction: Montenegro.

18.00 Netherlands-Poland

Márk: “Again, this duel has already been played in the preliminaries, Holland celebrated with a massive win. The difference is not as big between the two teams, Poland showed that they can be equal to any teams in the championship. For them it is already the second semifinal in a row, whilst the Netherlands will battle first time for a place among Top4. It is an advantage for Poland, nevertheless Netherlands will win in a close battle.Prediction: Netherlands

Sascha: ” This one will be awesome to watch, because the fast-paced Dutch team will face a slower, but more physical Polish side. Poland is the slight underdog, but probably nobody expected them to play for the medals, so why shouldn’t they surprise once more? The Dutch seem too fast for them, though. Prediction: Netherlands by three.

Bjørn: “Kim Rasmussen and Poland have surprised all the handball world with going all the way to the semifinal. Netherlands and Poland met each other in the preliminary round, where Netherlands won by 11 goals, 31-20. I don’t think the difference will be as much as this, but I think Netherlands once again will win against Poland. Prediction: Netherlands

Rodrigo: “Netherlands is the team to pay attention to at this stage. With very few teams in the Champions League (none in the 2015-2016 Main Round) and without the same tradition as Poland, one can imagine what a big celebration the fans are doing. At this moment, I think it will be no surprise if they make it to the final. Let’s not forget the 36-20 win over the 2013 runners up. My prediction: Netherlands win by eight goals.

Ibolya: “I am impressed of Poland, I have to say, Kim Rasmussen is the real leader, he can motivate his team in every situation, even if they are exhausted already. Netherlands is a new, shining spot on the sky of women handball, with a spectacular offensive play which I vote for every time. Hope to be a match without injuries (!) and I think that Poland is too tired to be able to face the Dutch running-machine during sixty minutes. Prediction: Netherlands

20.45 Norway-Romania

Márk: “Romania surprised everyone by beating title defender Brazil and hosts Denmark, will they also overcome Norway ? In my opinion Norway will win the duel, the experience is on their side, whilst Romania has scoring machine Neagu in its ranks. A hot duel between two Scandinavian coaches. Mr. Ryde brought back Romania on the handball map, but they will have to settle with a game for third place in this tournament. Prediction: Norway

Sascha: ” Norway has played solid so far and is dominating game, this team is just too good for the rest. Well, usually upsets happen when nobody thinks they are possible. But Norway is looking for the triple crown as it already holds the EURO and Olympic title, so Cristina Neagu has to play the game of her life to give Romania a chance: Prediction: Norway by four.

Bjørn: “Norway and Romania met each other in the preliminary round where Norway won by 4 goals. This time I think it will be much more. Norway have passed the big challenges and the highway to the final are now open. Prediction: Norway

Rodrigo: “The most difficult of my predictions. Norway has an outstanding resume, in the 2011 worlds here in Brazil, no opponents had a single chance, and that includes Denmark and Romania. However, the east Europeans are coming from a huge morale gained from beating the hosts. If Neagu and Ungureanu maintain the level shown in this tournament, Norway will have a hard time. The game goes to over time and Romania wins by one goal, again.

Ibolya: “Romania had grown as a team under headcoach Ryde during the tournament, but Norway did the same. If the Norwegian defense will be able to keep low Neagu in attack, than they should win the game, just as they did in group. In addition Scandinavians has experience in how to prepare, play and win matches like this, plus audience will be on their side as well. Prediction: Norway
