Tomas Ryde, headcoach-Romania-he was angry and furious after the lost semifinal and could only talk about the referees in the mixed zone:
“I want to have fairplay in a handball game. I have never ever in my career been so pissed off because of referees.
“The two minutes suspension they gave it’s like a circus, they are way to involved to decide the outcome.
Slovenian referees judged Norway’s almost every match in this tournament, Ryde was not satisfied:
“There are too many times they were refereeing in Norway’s matches, and that can give too personal relationship with a team.So one cannot avoid to be partial.
At the end he also admitted that Norway played better and smarter when it came to decide the match:
“Norway was better, they have Heidi Løke, who is impossible to our defense to stop today
Paula Ungureanu, goalkeeper-Romania:
“I am very proud of my team, we showed that we are a very good collective, which can compete against the best. I am disappointed that in the end we lost the game, but this is sport and somebody had to win these extratimes.
“We played a beautiful handball which was nice to watch, I have a very good feeling.
“Now we are focusing on the bronze-final, because we wish to return home with medals
About the new headcoach, Tomas Ryde and what extra he brought into this team, Ungureanu was not wiling to talk about!
Gabriella Szűcs, defender-Romania:
” I am disappointed to not win the match, but at the same time I am very happy that we made it to the semifinals.
“It is a good feeling to be here, is huge for every player to participate at a World Championship and was waiting for many years to make this step.
” I don’t want to speak about my decision regarding to play for Romania eventually, I am just satisfied that my team showed today a high-quality handball.”
