Thorir Hergeirsson, headcoach-Norway:
” We played a great match against a Dutch team, which was already highly expected in the top. I was really happy to them when I heard that they also reached semifinals, I know that this a result of a long-term project in Holland.
About my team: we made a fantastic first half, I cannot recall the last time we made such a good first thirty minutes, when Kari Aalvik Grimsbø in the goal was outstanding and this performance took the whole team with her in offense as well.
I am happy that we could win such a good organized WCH. We have seen here many good matches, the level of the women handball is raising , more good teams are fighting for the top-positions, but I am sure that Norway and Netherlands will continue to be there.”

Hank Groener, headcoach-Netherlands:
“We met a fantastic Norwegian team, which played a stunning first half. Last time I was asked about Norway’s weak points, I said that they don’t have one and I was right.
“This bad first half played of my time reminded me about another game, five years ago form Lillehammer, when we played a similar first half at the ECH against them.
” This time we sat down in the locker room and discussed that we cannot finish this championship in a such way, we have to fight back and show how we can play handball. We managed to come back to five goals and made some problems after all for them in the second half.
” We lost the final today but we won the silver medals, and I am glad that the crowd has enjoyed our games also at this WCH, and in Netherlands people are going crazy about our performance, so let’s hope that with our result we earned another nation for the handball, maybe more children will start tom play handball and more sponsors will invest in handball.

Heidi Løke, lineplayer-Norway:
” We made a first half when everything fell on the right place, compact defense, fantastic goalkeeper saves and fastbreaks or another offensive plays, we scored on almost every situation. It is not often that everything is perfect.
” I knew after the first half that we gained such a big advantage that we cannot give it away, and we talked about that in the pause that we have to win the second half too. We did not managed that totally, but anyway we have the gold medals and this is the bigest feeling ever.
” I am very proud of every player in the team, we made a fantastic work, now is time to celebrate a little.
Stine Bredal Oftedal, playmaker-Norway:
” I am really happy, I am thrilled that we made this happen here in DEnmark. I am really proud of my team, the staff and everybody.
” I mean that we made a perfect championship and I hope that we can continue this way many years

Danick Snelder, lineplayer-Netherlands:
” We did not make a good match, but after the downway of the first half our team managed to stand up in the second and show the world that was not a coincidence our place here in the final.
“When we played good and fast so we could make problems for Norway too. In my opinion we have to be very satisfied with the silver medals.”
Nycke Groot, playmaker-Netherlands:
“Right now I am very sad, not mainly because we lost, but because we played so badly, especially in the first half.
” I know that winning the silver here is a huge achieve but I need some more days to be able to process this, I am sure that after some hours I will be able to smile and be glad for what we done.
