Before the match

Buducnost is undefeated in this years CL race as the Montenegrin team was not defeated in the previous season either. They arrived to Győr full of confidence, having a compact team, strong backplayers and good wings.

The team has been reinforced with two players this month, Slovenian Nelli Irman is supposed to replace Radmila Petrovic, who is ill, on the right wing and Tunisian goalkeeper has been signed to back up Marta Zderic in the goal.

Cristina Neagu :” Definitely I expect a very difficult game, the arena will be fully crowded for sure and everybody will support Győr. We had a good preparation for this match, even if it was shorter than usually, but we are hundred percent ready to start the Main Round.

“Everybody is aware of the fact that Győr is a really strong team, with good players on every position, they won their group against good teams, so they are one of the main opponents, not only here in this stage but in tournament as well.

“We have a lot of big targets this year, personally I have more too, but I would go step by step and let’s hope that Saturday against Győr we will have the first positive result.”

The host team is struggeling with injuries, they could not avoid this problem and like last season they have some important players as Zsuzsanna Tomori (cruciate ligament injury-out for the whole season) and Anita Görbicz (knee injury (out for two months) cannot help the team on the court. In addition for this match Szimonetta Planéta  is out for a minor knee injury and Anikó Kovacsics has also a muscle injury in her leg.

Győr signed a player to strengthen the defense especially, Norwegian leftback, Ida Alstad joined the team for this season.

Eduarda Amorim: “I am coming back from a serious injury, which still bothers me at times but I am closer and closer to my former self. My legs still could use more power, but I am working hard to play to my full potential.

“I am obviously disappointed because I really wanted to help defend Brazil’s World Cup title, but I am concentrating on Győr now

“We are taking baby steps as we, once again, need time to form a united team, but the girls are working hard. I feel we are playing a lot better than we did in October, which tells us we are on the right path. However, there is a lot of room for improvement. There is an enormous amount of talent in Györ’s squad, but we need time to play to our potential. I feel when the time comes, we will be ready to fight for the title,”
