After cruising through first half taking a commanding 16-9 lead into the break, Sweden faced a much improved Slovenian side in the second period, but was able to hang on and take to very important points in a 23-21 win. Mattias Andersson saved a key shot in the last minute of the game and the Tre Kronor scored on the ensuing possession to take second place in Group C behind Spain after the first match day in Wroclaw.
