Gustavsson: “I never thought we could go out”

Iceland, seen by many as a team full of potential that could be the surprise of the tournament did actually just become that, but not as most experts expected. The team is going home after the preliminary round, which also shocks goalkeeper Björgvin Gustavsson: “I’m stunned, I never thought we could go out. Our mentality sometimes helps us a lot, but if we lose self-confidence it’s a big hurdle to overcome.” But he’s already looking forward to the things he has to do when he’s back in Germany. “I have to leave all this behind quite fast, because my family is waiting for me and we have a lot of work to do with my club (Bergischer HC), so there’s just no time to look back.”
