Krakow: Poland easily defeated France

France – Poland 25 – 31 (12 – 15)

Topscorers: Luc Abalo/ Kentin Mahe (FRA) 5 goals each and Karol Bielecki (POL) 9 goals

A confident Poland, supported by 15000 fans in Tauron Arena, Krakow took a flying start and was leading against France 5-12. Szmal closed the goal and even if France made a strong comeback before the break, the first half ended  12-15.

In the second half Poland increased the lead and never let Omeyer and his team to come back in the match, winning a French team they have never defeated in the last twenty two years.

Final result: 25 – 31.

Best player of the match: Slavomir Szmal-goalkeeper

Poland takes four points into the Main Round as Norway from Group B, and meets Norway in the first match on Saturday.
