EHF EURO 2016 Wroclaw: Predictions for tomorrow’s games

22.01.16 – 18:15 hrs – Germany vs. Hungary

Interesting matchup between two teams in the middle of a huge makeover. Germany played rock-solid in all three games so far and improved every time. Andreas Wolff has arguably been the best goalkeeper of the tournament so far. Hungary lacks a bit speed and experience, although Laszlo Nagy brings all the experience of the world to the team. But he’s a bit alone when it comes to that point and also when it comes to quality, because most of the Hungarian players are still quite unknown. Both factors let us expect a German win.

Prediction: Germany by three.

22.01.16 – 20:30 hrs – Sweden vs. Russia

Sweden is still far away from the glory days of the 1990s, when the famous Bengan Boys won title after title. But the team of captain Tobias Karlsson offers a great fighting spirit and a very good defense. But goalkeeper Mattias Andersson has to improve his performance, he isn’t up to his usual self so far. Russia is a bit of a surprise package, most players are quite unknown and still need to develope. Even though Sweden fiels a lot of young talents as well, they profit from a much better domestic league. Sweden should win this one.

Prediction: Sweden by three.
