Powerless Hungary crushed by German team

EHF EURO 2016, Poland, Wroclaw

Hala Stulecia

Group 2

Germany – Hungary 29-19 (17-9)

Topscorers: Fabian Wiede (6, Germany) and Iman Jamali, Laszlo Nagy, Kornel Nagy (3 each, Hungary)

Hungary didn’t really stand a chance right from the beginning against a very concentrated German side which took the lead early and never looked back. Especially on offense the Hungarians had problems to find solutions against the massive defense of Germany. After leading 17-9 at the break the 2004 EURO winners slowed down a little, but still cruised to an easy victory. Hungary is now eliminated from moving on to the semi-finals, while Germany will await Russia on two days in another key game for them.

Best player of the match: Fabian Wiede (Germany)
