Germany’s Steffen Fäth was awarded man of the match yesterday after his side’s easy win against Hungary. The sharp-shooting left-back was extremely happy about the perfomance of the team. “We just played very well. We knew what we had to do, with a lot of crossing. Hungary is a very big and heavy team and we used that quilte well. Sure, there’s always room for improvement, but we should be happy about the way we played today.”
But he also spoke about being one of the older players in the team nowadays: “For me it’s a new situation as well. In my club I’m playing football with ‘team young’ during warm-ups, here I play for ‘team old’, but I don’t feel like an oldie, that’s the most important.” Russia coming up next tomorrow for Germany, a team full of unknown players: “They have a good team, that’s for sure, but we have to focus on us. If we play to our potential I’m sure we have a good shot at winning the game.”
