Krumbholz replaces dismissed Portes

Alain Porte took over Les Bleus in 2013 and under his leadership France took some mediocre results in the final tournaments: 6th place at WCh is Serbia, 5th place at EURO 2014 Hungary and 7th place at WCH 2o15 in Denmark.

French handball federation has announced today that Alain Portes is no longer the head coach of France:

“This decision comes after finding that the conditions of mutual trust, essential to the success of the team of France were no longer together”

The new head coach for the next six months will be Olivier Krumbholz, who actually was dismissed three years ago when Portes took the job.

Krumbholz has to lead France in the Olympic Qualification, which will be held in Metz in March, France will play against Tunisia, Japan and Netherlands.

His contract is valid for this tournament and for the Olympic Games in Rio if the team qualifies.
