Spain is the team which was expected to play the semifinals, but Croatia could be considered quite an outsider among the best four since they have a team with new and inexperienced players.
Croatia took a flying start and has installed themselves in the lead, taking the control of the game. Kopljar, Sliskovic or Cupic were reliable on scorings, on the Iberic side Aguinagalde, Entrerios and Garcia scored the most in the first half.
Until 23.minute Croatia was in lead by two-three goals even but Spaniards made a comeback and they managed to level the game at 13-13, then took the lead and won the first half at 18-14.
The second half has continued with Spanish lead, Croatia managed to reduce the gap to one and they were close many times to level the game, but they never managed and Spain has marched to teh final, where they will meet Germany, their earlier opponent from the Main Round.
Final result: 33 – 29
