The Balcanic encounter promised an interesting battle between two top teams, both favourite to qualify to the Final Four. In the first match when Vardar and Buducnost met in Moraca, Montenegrins defeated Vardar without doubts in an onesided race.
Since than Jan Pytlick was fired from Vardar’s technical staff and the “assistent coach” is David Davis from the men team of Vardar. The Spaniard was leading today the team from the sideline, and he did not look like an assistant coach…
The first half was a close race, none of the two teams has more than one goal advantage, Leynaud and Zderic made their job, Lekic, Radicevic, Lazovic and Dembele netted for Vardar, on the opposite side Bulatovic, Mehmedovic and Neagu were efficient in offense.

Buducnost started the second half more decided, and manaed to get the lead and to have two goals difference with several occasions, Irman, Bulatovic or Neagu were scoring, on the other half of the court Penezic, Ikhneva, Lekic made the game for Vardar.
The last ten minutes were controlled by Vardar, they turned the game from 20-22, to 24-22 in a couple of minutes and never et Buducnost to come closer. Vardar ‘s victory means that the Macedonian team is in race for the second place of the group.
If they win in Sweden against Savehof and Győr loose in Bucuresti, than Vardar can climb to the second place of the group.
Final result: 26 – 24
