Main Round

Group I

FTC Rail Cargo Hungaria –  HCM Baia Mare 21 – 18 (14 – 7)

Topscorers: Nerea Pena (FTC) 7 goals and Alexandra Do Nascimento (HCM) 8 goals

Baia Mare arrived to Budapest with the goal to win their sixth Main Round match in a row, but the first half showed that FTC has more willingness to control this game. When Pena and Zácsik netted in turn behind Ungureanu it was obvious that home team, supported by a full arena, is on fire. 14-7 at break meant that Romanian team was not able to be as efficient as they used to be in attack, struggeling in front of a tough Hungarian defense.

The second half was a reverse mirror of the first, when FTC was hold on only seven scored goals by Romanian goalkeeper Munteanu, and Baia Mare had a comeback in the match, but they did not manage to make it closer than three goals.

With this victory Ferencváros will finish second or third in this group, if Larvik wins in France against Fleury than they’ll finish third, if Larvik gets draw or loss, than Hungarians stays on the second place.
