Before the game

Romanian team HCM Baia Mare had gone through qualifications and they are the second Romanian team beside CSM Bucuresti in the best eight team of the Champions League. The team had a struggling period during group stage, they had been qualified on the third place, but due to a fantastic Main Round race where they beat Thuringer and Fleury twice and FTC on home court, they managed to take the last spot of their group. Allison Pineau is in top shape, being a real leader of the team, as well is Valentina Ardean Elisei, Lois Abbingh or Paula Ungureanu.

Buducnost is the title holder, with a consistent team, but this year they were defeated twice, once in Gyår than in Skopje, so they lost of their shine and will face hard time in Baia Mare. Still the team with Neagu, Bulatovic, Raicevic, Mehmedovic and Zderic are the clear favourites of this encounter.

The match

The guests made a clear match, leading from the beginning to the end against Baia Mare in Romania. Radmila Petrovic on the rightwing is back for Buducnost, scoring seven times. Cristina Neagu was again unstoppable. Baia Mare was led by Allison Pineau but this seemed to be not enough against the title holder.
